Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal – HVDC / Offshore Grids to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of technical specifications on large HVDC and complex offshore grid projects. This will involve working closely with our clients to understand their needs and develop solutions to meet them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of technical specifications on large HVDC and complex offshore grid projects.
  • Take part in the early design and coordinate the front-end engineering and design phase of such projects.
  • Oversee procurement and tendering activities and support the project owners in various phases of their projects.
  • Drive and stimulate the development of HVDC and offshore solutions proposed by EGI.
  • Lead a local team of subject matter experts based in North America and facilitate a smooth collaboration between the local and the global organization.
  • Contribute to the continuous evolution of the company by adopting best practices, seeking improvement opportunities, and engaging in the development of strategic partnerships.
  • Support in daily business, resource planning, sales, and operations planning, recruitment, and management of consultants/contractors.
  • Ensure that all project activities are carried out according to policies, quality standards, and financial targets.

Requirements

  • Be knowledgeable of the HVDC market in North America.
  • Have at least years of professional experience in the HVDC field in leadership positions (Team Leader, Project Manager, Project Director, Chief Engineer or similar).
  • Hold a Master's in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Be an industry expert with credibility and a name in the industry to open doors and command respect when proposing solutions.
  • Have proven success in business development, specifically producing solutions and shaping offers to solve customer challenges at C-Level contacts.
  • Have experience overseeing the delivery of strategy or operational consulting services to the electricity transmission sector.
  • Be able to manage large and complex projects in a global team of experienced professionals and experts.
  • Have knowledge of strategy development, market & regulations, business transformation, offshore grid, interconnectors, digitalization, or other topics related to the energy transition.
  • Be fluent in English.
  • Be willing to travel up to % of the time for international assignments depending on the business development needs.
