Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and leadership. Key responsibilities will include:
Program Governance & Oversight:
- Managing key controls for regulatory compliance, including FATCA, CRS, and QI programs.
- Developing and implementing Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management (eRCM) program.
- Leading the development of robust frameworks for regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring compliance and effectiveness through proactive risk management, control measures, and governance initiatives.
- Monitoring global regulatory shifts and conducting gap analyses.
FATCA & CRS Governance:
- Maintaining awareness of updates to FATCA & CRS regulations/guidance published by regulators.
- Liaising with local regulators to champion Scotiabank's regulatory position.
- Providing Business Lines with gap analysis when revised regulations/guidance is released.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with Business Lines and providing direction and oversight on implementation of revised regulations.
QI Governance & Sustainment:
- Implementing, monitoring, and enhancing the QI regulatory operating model.
- Developing and implementing regulatory compliance programs/processes to achieve balance between operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Buidling and developing key controls around Documentation, Withholding, and Reporting.
FATCA & CRS Fulfillment:
- Providing oversight and leadership to processes and procedures related to daily case management of FATCA and CRS cases.
- Managing the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to support due diligence and documentation activities.
- Conducting gap assessment to identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Championing the implementation of process efficiencies to address procedural redundancy and minimize compliance risk.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- University degree with minimum of 7 years in the financial services industry, including experience with regulatory programs.
- Expert knowledge of FATCA, QI & CRS regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Demonstrated ability in leading teams and managing people.
- Strong knowledge of banking, operational risk, regulatory risk, compliance and regulatory requirements and internal control principles.
