Labour Relations Specialist

We are seeking a Labour Relations Specialist to join our team at Cari. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing labour management strategies that foster a collaborative and trust-based relationship with our unions. This role will provide strategic advice and counsel to leadership teams on various employee issues, including performance and productivity management, absenteeism, and disability claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proactive and strategic advice to leadership teams on employee issues.
- Conduct strategic analysis of absenteeism trends and recommend education or mitigation strategies.
- Manage and coordinate Labour Management Committee meetings and ensure timely follow-up of agreed action items.
- Lead employee investigations as required.
- Educate client groups on collective agreements through informal discussions and formal seminars.
- Prepare mandates, draft provisions, and advise on collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
- Coach senior leaders and managers to improve their leadership effectiveness.
- Partner with HR colleagues to implement employee engagement strategies and programs.
- Manage the talent review process and create measurable action plans to develop and grow talent.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of progressive HR/Business Partner experience in a unionized environment.
- Record of success leading the labour relations function across a multi-union environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and results-oriented skills.
- Exceptional business acumen and ability to influence stakeholders.
- Impressive communication and collaborative skills.
