Fraser Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Care Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Palliative Care Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in an interdisciplinary setting, working collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients in the Palliative Complex Care Unit.
- Utilize a patient-centered, culturally sensitive approach to evaluate actual or potential problems and/or strengths.
- Consult and collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team about patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and research by identifying patient care issues and collecting data.
- Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by adhering to established safety and emergency practices and procedures.
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing.
- One year recent acute medical/surgical nursing or acute palliative care experience, plus completion of a certificate in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Demonstrated understanding of the scope of practice of other healthcare disciplines.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the field of palliative care.
- Demonstrated ability to apply clinical knowledge in practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
