Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator will support the Business Enablement & Enterprise Procurement Team at Loblaw Companies Limited. This role will coordinate and follow through on various Human Resources activities and projects, including Company-wide Human Resources programs/initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line support to colleagues with questions or concerns in assigned client groups.
  • Support the rollout of various HR programs/initiatives, such as assessments, culture, colleague engagement surveys, and Workday initiatives.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to client groups on employee relations issues, including company policies and procedures, recruitment and selection strategy, performance management, job evaluations, terminations, training and development, and benefits administration.
  • Partner with client groups to advise and counsel colleagues on HR-related issues and concerns.
  • Oversee the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers with opening requisitions, liaising with corporate talent acquisition specialists, making salary recommendations to the business, and facilitating the offer process.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and advice to client groups on employment-related issues, including the interpretation of company policies and procedures, recruitment, training and development, and benefits administration.
  • Resolve sensitive colleague issues, research answers, and make inquiries on HR-related issues.
  • Compile data for compensation recommendations and partner with the compensation group to manage the administration of the client's annual incentive and merit review process.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable HR federal and provincial requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements and best practices to influence human resources strategies.
  • Resolve necessary payroll inquiries and inquiries relating to benefits, ServiceNow, Workday, onboarding, etc.
  • Assist the Sr. Director and Sr. HRBP with research, analysis, and implementation of programs, reports, and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources and obtained (or working towards) Human Resources Certification (CHRP or CHRL).
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive HR experience, coordinating departmental programs and initiatives is a definite asset.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
  • Solid computer skills required in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused and able to nurture positive customer relationships.
  • Highly organized and has a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem-solve.
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service with a strong sense of urgency and ability to respond promptly.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, requiring little direction.
