Financial Strategist Role at Bank of Montreal

As a Senior Finance Manager, Commercial Banking, you will have the opportunity to work with our team to develop and implement financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Financial Strategist, who can analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations to senior leaders.

About the Role:

  1. You will be responsible for developing detailed financial models to assist in decision-making and strategic planning.
  2. You will work closely with business leaders and finance partners to provide financial advice and service that supports the financial management activities of the Group/portfolio.
  3. You will support the monitoring and management of financial performance against plans, forecasts, initiatives, and objectives.
  4. You will generate information and insights that support key business decisions to drive value (e.g., revenue growth, cost management, resource allocation, balance sheet optimization, etc.).
  5. You will network with industry contacts to gather competitive insights and best practices.
  6. You will manage resources and lead the execution of accounting, risk, and regulatory-related strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  7. You will define business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision-making.
  8. You will lead the execution of financial planning & analysis service delivery programs; assess and adapt as needed to ensure quality of execution.
  9. You will support/lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance reviews that utilize plan, forecast, and actual financial information to develop annual plans and targets.
  10. You will perform variance analyses, and ad-hoc forward-looking analyses to improve understanding of business drivers as well as opportunities to improve performance for product improvement, profit improvement, financial impact of initiatives/strategic business decisions.
  11. You will support the development of methodologies and policies to enable analyses and insights focused on financial dimensions (e.g.,)
  12. You will determine the financial impact of initiatives/strategic business decisions, and incorporate the impacts into future financial forecasts/plans.
  13. You will assess reasonableness of business cases and performs due-diligence during Investment reviews and approvals processes.
  14. You will work with the business to align key performance indicators with financial forecasts and plans.
  15. You will break down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  16. You will integrate information from multiple sources (e.g., financial and operational systems) to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.
  17. You will monitor and track performance, and addresses any issues.
  18. You will recommend and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  19. You will operate at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  20. You will implements changes in response to shifting trends.

Salary Range:

The estimated salary for this role is between $120,000 and $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
