About Stonewood Group Inc.

We are a well-established transportation company with a head office in the Greater Toronto Area. Our client is seeking a new VP Finance to facilitate the retirement of a long-term senior manager.

The Role

As Chief Financial Strategist, you will be responsible for managing the financial affairs of the group of companies including the operating entities, the holding companies, and a charitable foundation.

  • You will contribute to the overall management of the firm as part of the senior management team.
  • You will oversee and manage the accounting, tax, insurance, audit, budget, credit, and treasury functions.
  • You will provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the members of the finance and accounting staff in the organization.
  • You will lead the budgeting and auditing processes for the company.

Key Responsibilities

Our ideal candidate will have experience managing a finance department and directing all the activities involved in the financial stewardship of a company.

  • They will have exposure to IT or experience managing an IT department.
  • They will have experience dealing with legal matters.

In addition, they will possess strong commercial acumen and understand the commercial impact of their work on the organization's total expenses and revenues.
