New Flyer is a leader in North America's heavy-duty transit bus market, with various locations across the continent. Our cutting-edge product line includes the Xcelsior and Xcelsior CHARGETM brands.

Our Technical Lead will oversee the supervision, coordination, and performance of assigned technical teams within our engineering groups. They will personally ensure the completion and accuracy of tasks from initial design to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise team members to ensure tasks are completed to New Flyer standards.
  • Balancing task assignments between section members to meet deadlines.
  • Completing engineering design tasks to support production.
  • Coordinating own tasks to ensure deadlines are met, including maintaining task status and recording time spent.
  • Creating engineering designs that meet customer specifications and production requirements for manufacturability.
  • Coordinating trial installations of designs to ensure customer expectations are met, product reliability assured, and component fit verified.
  • Completing engineering drawings and release documentation according to engineering procedures.
  • Providing engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, Purchasing, and other departments as required.
  • Interacting with vendors and customers on design-related issues.
  • Checking and/or approving engineering documents as authorized.
  • Performing annual evaluations for direct reports.

Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer with at least 4 years of experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of design-related experience.
  • Strong Unigraphics skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to motivate employees and train new hires.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, and Excel.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
