Specifications Writer and Technical Document Specialist

About the JobWe are seeking an experienced Specifications Writer and Technical Document Specialist to join our multi-disciplinary design practice. This role will involve working with project teams to develop technical specifications, drawings, and schedules that meet industry standards and external design and construction codes.
Key Responsibilities- Review architectural design drawings to identify scope and content for specifications at various project stages
- Develop project specifications consistent with industry standards such as Construction Specifications Institute's (CSI) MasterFormat
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure specifications, drawings, and schedules are coordinated
- Maintain and upgrade office master specifications sections
- Coordinate contents and volumes of each project manual
- 3 years of experience writing construction specifications
- Strong computer skills with emphasis on Word, Excel, Revu/Adobe Acrobat, FTP programs, and cloud-based specification writing platforms
- Excellent interpersonal skills, working with others in a team setting
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, industry standards, structures, and materials standards
- Post-secondary education with emphasis on degrees in Architecture and related fields
