Job Overview

Flex-N-Gate, a leading manufacturer and supplier in the automotive industry, seeks a skilled Industrial Mechanic Specialist to join their team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment in an industrial environment, adhering to manufacturers' specifications and layout plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work safely, adhering to proper protective equipment and safe machinery usage.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Dismantle and move machinery using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as presses, shafting, and conveyors.
  • Construct foundations for machines.
  • Align machines and equipment, ensuring they are properly fastened to foundations or other structures.
  • Grind, file, or turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • Repair and lubricate machines and equipment.
  • May install robots and perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trades workers.
  • Document activities as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Provincial Trade License or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience maintaining metal stamping presses, coil feeding equipment, servo transfer systems, overhead cranes, compressors, and chillers.
  • Knowledge of press room equipment, general fabrication, and machine rebuilding.
  • Metal fabricating experience required.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.
  • Electrical background an asset.
  • Plant Orientation Training and Job Specific Training.
  • Willingness to work shift work and midnights if required.
