Job Summary:

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Psihcologist to join the Short-Term Assessment & Treatment Centre at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC.

Short-Term Assessment and Treatment Centres are specialized units for individuals experiencing health changes that interfere with functioning and independence.

Duties:

  1. Complete psychological assessments, provide psychological treatment, evaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of treatment, and facilitate education of clients.
  2. Be in charge of psychological services provided to a section of the facility/program for the designated scope of practice area.
  3. Work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, maintain client records, and prepare progress notes and psychological reports.
  4. Liaise with external agencies and establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Attend clinical/case conferences and provide formal and informal consultations.
  6. Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, and may provide clinical teaching, supervision, and work direction to Psychology Residents, Post-Doctoral Fellows, and students as required and on rotation, and conducts and participates in research.

Requirements:

  1. . in Clinical Psychology from a recognized university.
  2. Two (2) years recent related experience in therapeutic, diagnostic, and consultation services in the areas of mental health & substance use.
  3. Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia or registration with the College within two years of employment.
  4. Valid Class V Vehicle Driver's license and possession of a personal vehicle with business insurance coverage when required.
