Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Hope to Health Primary Care Clinic. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychological assessments, short-term treatment, and group-based programs to patients identified as being at risk for developing chronic disease or mental illness.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will require a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a recognized institution, current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, and two years of recent experience working in primary care or similar settings. You will have demonstrated knowledge in Primary Care Behavioral Health, evidence-based assessment and treatment techniques, and the principles of recovery in mental illness.
Key Responsibilities
- Completes brief psychological assessments of clients using standardized and evidence-based procedures.
- Provides short-term treatment to patients identified as being at risk for developing chronic disease or mental illness.
- Develops and facilitates group-based treatment programs.
- Maintains electronic and paper patient records by documenting assessment findings, treatment plans, client participation, and treatment progress outcomes.
- Copies and coordinates with medical and mental health providers to ensure wrap-around care for clients requiring higher levels of mental health assessment and treatment.
- Continues education to physicians and other healthcare providers to increase community capacity and understanding of behavioral and cognitive contributors to health outcomes.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of psychological treatments and provides recommendations for program development.
- Maintains liaison with referring physicians and other professionals regarding clients' total care.
- Leverages data analysis to inform adjustments to clinical practice guidelines and pathways.
Salary and Benefits
