Pediatric Psychology Specialist

About the Position:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced pediatric psychologist to join our team at BC Children's Hospital. As a Pediatric Psychology Specialist, you will work with critically ill children and their families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with complex medical and psychological needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care and support to patients and families.
  • Conduct psychodiagnostic assessments and provide evidence-based interventions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient progress and outcomes, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare staff on topics related to pediatric psychology.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in child clinical or developmental psychology, or a related field.
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with pediatric populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
