Newmarket, Ontario, Canada Closing the Gap Healthcare Full time

Closing the Gap Healthcare is a leading Canadian-owned, award-winning organization dedicated to providing high-quality home and community-based healthcare services. We are currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team as an independent contractor.

This role offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to work with adult clients in their homes on a face-to-face basis and through virtual sessions. You will have control over your schedule, which can be tailored to suit your needs.

As an SLP at Closing the Gap, you will provide assessments in-home settings based on presenting impairments or diagnoses using standardized assessment tools. You will work with clients who require assistance with speaking, breathing, and swallowing, among other concerns. Your expertise will inform the development of care plans that incorporate evidence-based information, best practices, and clinical judgment.

We use a hybrid model of care, combining face-to-face and virtual interactions. This allows you to create a schedule that meets your needs while ensuring continuity of care for our clients.

Responsibilities include designing care plans, partnering with family members, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless service delivery. You will also contribute to the success of our team by participating in education and training initiatives, fostering collaboration, and embracing performance recognition and appreciation.

The successful candidate will possess a graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology, active registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario, and a valid driver's license. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills are essential. Experience in home-based services is desirable but not required.

Closing the Gap Healthcare offers an attractive compensation package, including:

  • $70,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • A comprehensive health and dental plan
  • RRSP matching
  • Vacation pay and time off
  • Extensive learning and education opportunities
  • A culture of performance recognition and appreciation

We strive to maintain a safe environment for our team members and clients. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged, and accommodations will be provided as needed under our Accessibility policy.
