Assistant Professor of Environmental Sociology

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Environmental Sociology Professor to join our team at the University of Alberta. As a leading research university, we are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment that fosters academic excellence and innovation.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in sociology with a research program focused on environmental, agricultural, or natural resource sociology. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in consumption and consumerism, as well as international research collaborations.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in sociology or a closely related field and a proven track record of research and teaching excellence. They will also have experience working with interdisciplinary teams and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental sociology
- Conduct research in environmental sociology and publish in top-tier journals
- Supervise graduate students and mentor junior faculty members
- Participate in departmental and university service
Requirements:

- Experience teaching and mentoring students
