Environmental Sociology Professor

The University of Alberta is a world-renowned research institution located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology as a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Environmental Sociology.
Position OverviewThe successful candidate will have a strong research program focused on topics in environmental, agricultural, or natural resource sociology. We are particularly interested in candidates skilled in quantitative methods, conducting research focused on consumption and consumerism, and/or having an international focus.
Responsibilities- Develop a strong research program with external funding.
- Engage in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Train and supervise graduate students.
- Teach at the graduate and undergraduate level.
- Contribute to the intellectual life of the university and the sociology profession.
Candidates must hold a PhD in sociology, environmental sociology, or a closely related field. Experience working with topics in environmental, agricultural, or natural resource sociology is required. An ability to teach quantitative methods and experience with a research program with links to sustainable development goals and Indigenous communities is an asset.
