Speech Language Pathologist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Allied Health Services team at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide Speech Language services as part of an interdisciplinary care team on our acute inpatient medical, surgical unit and rehabilitative units/outpatient clinics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, evaluate, and treat communication impairments and/or swallowing disorders in patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing disorders.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • MBS Imp certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hiring.
  • Recent experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and rehabilitative care areas.
  • Outpatient experience preferred.
