We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our interdisciplinary care teams.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with communication and swallowing disorders in our acute adult inpatient units and Rehab Day Hospital (RDP)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify communication and swallowing impairments
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers to promote optimal communication and swallowing outcomes
- Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent
- Current registration with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
- MBS Imp certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hiring
- Evidence of continuing education in acute care Speech Language Pathology practices
- Recent experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and rehabilitative care areas
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Ability to function co-operatively as part of an interprofessional treatment team
- Comprehensive assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound clinical judgment, flexibility, and initiative
- Ability to communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals
- Superior organizational and time management skills
