Reporting to the Director, Hospitality, the Manager, Patient Food Services is responsible for delivering exceptional patient, visitor, and community experiences through the preparation and distribution of meals and nourishments within the main campus, offsite locations, catering, Meals on Wheels, and Meals to Go programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of 62 aides, techs, chefs, clerks, and leaders to achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize nutritional care and patient safety.
- Collaborate with Public Health, Registered Dieticians, Speech Language Pathologists, patients, and unit managers to resolve concerns and recommendations.
- Manage the Diet Office/Patient Menu management, including Computrition Diet Manager database maintenance and tray accuracy audits.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, IPAC best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Food and Nutrition Management or a related field.
- Minimum of five years Food Service management experience in a unionized, Acute Care Hospital.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and direct teams.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
