About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our interdisciplinary care teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Speech Language services to patients on our acute adult inpatient units and Rehab Day Hospital (RDP)
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify communication and swallowing impairments
  • Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent
  • Current registration with the College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • MBS Imp certification or willingness to complete within 3 months of hiring
  • Evidence of continuing education in acute care Speech Language Pathology practices
  • Recent experience with a varied clinical practice in acute care (medical and surgical) and rehabilitative care areas
  • Outpatient experience preferred
