Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at Michael Wallace Elementary. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism and other exceptionalities.
  • Assist with implementing and tracking behavior targets, as well as de-escalation strategies and pro-social skills.
  • Support students with toileting, personal care, and the use of assistive technology.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and seizure management as needed.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform light lifting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform medium lifting.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification.
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, and the use of assistive technology.
Assets
  • Experience working with students with autism.
  • A related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement.
