Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team at William King Elementary. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Job Summary:

The Educational Program Assistant will provide support to students with diverse needs, including those with autism, in a classroom setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing individualized education plans, providing behavioral support, and assisting with daily living skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement individualized education plans and provide behavioral support to students with diverse needs
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive support system for students
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Medium lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Experience working with students with autism or other diverse needs
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution
