Job Summary

Oyster Pond Academy is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to students with varying needs, including those with autism and other exceptionalities.
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of behavior targets, de-escalation strategies, and pro-social skills development.
  • Support students with personal care, toileting, and use of assistive technology.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience working with students with autism and other exceptionalities.
  • Related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Working Conditions

The Educational Program Assistant will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with educational staff and other support personnel to provide high-quality support to students.

The successful candidate will be required to work a 10-month school year calendar, with time off during Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.

The starting annual salary for a 100% position is $35,817.70, including 4% vacation pay. Rates are based on a five-step scale with step increases occurring annually.
