About the Role:

The Administrative Support IV in our General Nephrology Clinic plays a vital role in patient care and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient check-in, check-out, demographic verification, and registration in Connect Care
  • Scheduling clinic appointments, including virtual appointments, for nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team
  • Processing nephrologists' orders, including scheduling diagnostic tests, therapies, and consultations, and document scanning in Connect Care
  • Managing clinic flow and clinic room assignment on a daily basis
  • Answering the clinic telephone and redirecting patient calls to the appropriate resource
  • Supporting patient flow and redirecting patients to other areas of the site

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education is required, along with successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant course and medical terminology.

You will also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven organization and time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in stressful situations.

Able to work well independently and must be able to lift 20 pounds and push a bariatric patient in a wheelchair.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in Alberta Kidney Care-North and experience working in either the General Nephrology Clinic, Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, or the Diabetic Nephropathy Clinics.
