About the Job:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the planning of long-term financial strategies, including Development Charges, Inclusionary Zoning, and Community Benefits Charge. This role will also involve administering, reviewing, and reconciling Municipal Funding, tracking and reporting on Municipal funding, and providing By-law interpretations to the Planning and Building Services department.

Key Functions:

  1. Developing long-term capital financial strategies and planning
  2. Assisting with the review and updating of the City's 10-Year Water and Wastewater Financial Plan
  3. Reviewing and submitting Capital Grants and grant reports
  4. Providing By-law interpretations to the Planning and Building Services department and development community
  5. Quoting and calculating interest for SP/ZBAs application
  6. Managing and administering development charge grant programs

Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or similar field of study
  • Five (5) years' experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets, or equivalent preferably within the Ontario Municipal finance sector
  • AMCTO Municipal Accounting & Finance certificate and/or CPA designation
