Are you a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who is passionate about providing exceptional customer service?
As a Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for effectively and proactively managing a fluctuating caseload of new and ongoing life and disability claims. You will assess claims, make challenging decisions by following policy guidelines, and communicate with customers daily by telephone or email to obtain necessary information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess disability and life claims, determine eligibility for benefits, and consider medical information, certificate of insurance provisions, and additional information.
- Actively and proactively manage claims, use available sources, and collaborate with medical consultants.
- Analyze, evaluate, and make decisions for claims through discretionary decision making, verbal and written skills, and communication.
- Collaborate with customers daily by telephone or email to obtain necessary information about their claims.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of related experience in claims, insurance, financial, or relevant experience in the health field.
- College diploma or undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Advanced level of French and English, both written and verbal, as you will be examining and managing claims in both French and English and communicating with clients across Canada.
- LOMA level 1 and CSI, ICA 1&3 (an asset).
- Medical knowledge, strong team player, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong client service orientation, ability to anticipate needs, and be empathetic.
- Solid communication skills, ability to write in a clear and concise manner, and communicate at the right level for the audience.

Compensation:
The typical hiring range for this position is from $59,000 to $75,000 annually, with base pay based on location and may vary depending on skills, job-related knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
