About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Consultant to join our team at BDO Canada. As a Tax Consultant, you will play a key role in assisting clients with Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credit claims. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the application process and ensuring our clients receive the maximum benefit under the program.

As a member of our professional services team, you will work collaboratively with clients, financial and technical personnel to develop costing models for R&D projects. You will also examine and analyze client operations and processes to determine which qualify for income tax incentives.

Key responsibilities will include performing and documenting calculations, preparing memos and/or other tasks required in the completion of claim working notes, and preparing and/or reviewing related tax schedules. You will also assist the team with any Canada Revenue Agency or relevant provincial ministries to favorably resolve any reviews they conduct.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in accounting and/or tax, and a strong interest in pursuing a career as a client-facing Consultant with future growth opportunities within the practice. If you have experience with the Canadian SR&ED program and are knowledgeable in current accounting principles, we encourage you to apply.
