Job Summary:

RhynoCare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering excellent nursing and personal care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care: Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure timely admissions: Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home.
  • Manage resident transfers and discharges: Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
  • Control and safekeeping of medications: Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care: Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the residents.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Registration and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate and supportive manner.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal Statues which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
  • Medical Clearance: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests).
  • Police Check: Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Criminal Record Check: Clear Criminal Record check.

  • All staff are required to provide proof of vaccination, adhere to COVID-19 prevention protocols, and wear a mask at all times.
