Job Title: Transportation Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Platinum Transport Group Inc.

Job Summary:

The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes evaluating daily operations, monitoring department performance, planning and organizing daily operations, and preparing reports for senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Monitor department performance to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan and organize daily operations to ensure that all transportation services are provided efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan for changes to schedules and policies to ensure that all transportation services are provided in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare reports for senior management to provide updates on department performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recruit and supervise staff to ensure that all transportation services are provided by qualified and experienced personnel.
  • Train staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage finances or budget to ensure that all transportation services are provided within budget.
  • Ensure that all transportation services are provided in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Negotiate for services and preferential rates to ensure that all transportation services are provided at the best possible price.
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure that all transportation services are provided efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue to ensure that all transportation services are provided within budget.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to ensure that all transportation services are provided with the necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption to ensure that all transportation services are provided in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a transportation management role.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Dental plan.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English as the primary language of work.
  • 40 to 50 hours per week.
