Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Platinum Transport Group Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation management and be able to oversee daily operations, monitor department performance, and plan for changes to schedules and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of daily transportation operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Monitor Department Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement daily schedules, routes, and logistics plans to ensure smooth and efficient transportation operations.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Anticipate and prepare for changes to schedules, policies, and procedures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Compile and present regular reports on department performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Recruit and Supervise Staff: Hire, train, and supervise a team of transportation staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage Finances or Budget: Oversee the financial aspects of transportation operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all transportation operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiating for preferential rates and services.
  • Oversee Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Oversee Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Develop and implement transportation service rates, monitoring revenue and adjusting rates as needed.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Manage the inventory of transportation equipment, supplies, and materials, ensuring that they are properly maintained and stored.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled, and Fuel Consumption: Accurately record and track cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, using this data to optimize transportation operations.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Language: English
  • Work Hours: 40 to 50 hours per week
