Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Platinum Transport Group Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the performance of our transportation department and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor Department Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that our transportation department is meeting its goals.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans to optimize our transportation operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Develop and implement plans to adapt to changes in schedules and policies, ensuring that our transportation operations are not disrupted.
  • Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of our transportation department.
  • Recruit Staff: Recruit and hire qualified staff to join our transportation team.
  • Supervise Staff: Supervise and manage the performance of our transportation staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Train Staff: Provide training and development opportunities to our transportation staff, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Manage Finances or Budget: Manage the finances and budget of our transportation department, ensuring that all expenses are accounted for and that we are operating within our means.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that our transportation operations are compliant with all relevant regulations and laws.
  • Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure the best possible rates and services for our transportation operations.
  • Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of our vehicles and goods, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue, ensuring that our transportation operations are profitable.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Organize and maintain our inventory of vehicles and goods, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our transportation needs.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled and Fuel Consumption: Record and track key information related to our transportation operations, including cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
