Job Title: Financial Reporting Director

About The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Director to join our team at The Mirillion Group. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our financial reporting processes and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Financial Reporting Processes: Oversee month-end close duties, review and approve journal entries, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across consolidated and legal entity statements.
  • Analyze Financial Processes: Identify errors, uncover opportunities for improvement, and implement process enhancements to drive organizational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with External Auditors: Work efficiently with external auditors to complete year-end and ad hoc audits, providing necessary data and insights.
  • Develop Accounting Policies: Create and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Lead Financial Projects: Implement changes in accounting standards and regulatory updates, and lead financial reporting projects to drive business growth.

Critical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Accounting: Possess expertise in full-cycle accounting, reconciliation of complex accounts, and financial consolidation.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems: Have knowledge of ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and Microsoft Suite tools.
  • Canadian CPA Designation: Hold a Canadian CPA designation and Big 4-trained CPA experience.
  • Strong Analytical Reasoning: Demonstrate strong analytical reasoning skills, attention to detail, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
