Job Title: Vice President, Controller & Financial Reporting

Our client, Stonewood Group Inc., is a leading North American provider of diversified environmental solutions. The company offers services in solid waste management, liquid waste management, and infrastructure implementation.

Job Summary

The Vice President, Controller & Financial Reporting will oversee all aspects of Financial Reporting, including annual and interim reporting. This role will lead and support key initiatives and improvements in reporting and communications to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support regulatory and audit requests, including process walkthroughs, data collection, report explanations, and detailed analysis.
  2. Ensure work papers, procedures, and other relevant materials supporting report production are well documented and complete.
  3. Continually review and assess reporting exposures and recommend/develop reporting management strategies.
  4. Develop/enhance policies & procedures, analytics, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.
  5. Research, interpret, and recommend relevant accounting policies on a consolidated basis to senior management.
  6. Oversee and lead divisional Controllers to manage the quarterly process, including consolidation and working with external auditors.
  7. Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancements of internal financial accounting policies, procedures, processes, and systems.
Requirements
  1. Minimum 10 years of experience in the finance department of a fast-paced, M&A driven, large multi-entity corporation.
  2. Thorough knowledge of regulatory filing requirements of dual listed companies, US GAAP, and IFRS concepts along with 'best practices' for public companies.
  3. Ability to use technical skills and sound judgment to make regular financial, personnel, and policy judgments.
