Fire Crew Leader

As a Fire Crew Leader with the BC Public Service, you will play a vital part in keeping communities safe and resilient. Your work in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery will have a direct impact across the province. You will lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around their communities, collaborating with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province.
Key Responsibilities
Lead crews on the fireline and in day-to-day fieldwork around their communities
Collaborate with professionals in wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery from across the province
Execute fire suppression and ensure crews are safely and effectively engaged in incident response
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent; OR an equivalent combination of training and education may be considered
2 seasons forest fire related experience
First Aid Ticket OFA Level 1 with Transportation Endorsement
Successful completion of New Recruit Boot Camp or Agency Equivalent
Successfully complete pre-employment fitness standard
Maintain personal weights standards as required for crew type
Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
