Design and Release Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design and Release Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems team at RGBSI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing components in support of powertrain integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with designers, CAE groups, suppliers, and manufacturing to design components and systems that meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
- Develop and maintain product designs from concept to launch, including components/system packaging, releasing D drawings and D models, performance specifications, and production product issue resolution.
- Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses to ensure efficient and cost-effective production processes.
- Develop and maintain design documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our products remain competitive and innovative.
Requirements:
- Minimum three years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of propulsion system calibration and vehicle components.
- Basic knowledge of gasoline engine operation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with design software, such as CAD, CAE, and FEA.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Requirements:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced design tools, such as NX CAD and FEA software.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and design for Six Sigma principles.
- Experience working in a multinational corporation with a global supply chain.
