Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design and Release Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems team at RGBSI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing components in support of powertrain integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers, CAE groups, suppliers, and manufacturing to design components and systems that meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain product designs from concept to launch, including components/system packaging, releasing D drawings and D models, performance specifications, and production product issue resolution.
  • Conduct design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure design and release processes meet business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of propulsion system calibration and vehicle components.
  • Basic knowledge of gasoline engine operation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as NX or SolidWorks.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analyses.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with advanced quality tools, such as design for six sigma (DFSS) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Knowledge of hardware release process and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Experience working with OEMs or Tier suppliers.
