Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. This is a regular full-time position with a salary range of $79,000 - $98,000 per year.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Audit registrants under The Securities Act and The Commodity Futures Act to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and policies.
- Complete audits and finalize results with minimal supervision.
- Assist in the administration of ongoing oversight of recognized self-regulatory organizations (SROs) and other entities regulated or subject to oversight by the Commission.
Requirements
- Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Must be able to travel within Canada and the United States by ground or air.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's license with access to a personal vehicle.
Qualifications
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CGA, CPA-CMA) in good standing.
- Diverse audit experience including performing comprehensive financial, compliance and/or operational audits.
- Experience in applying Canadian auditing standards and accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in interpreting, explaining and applying legislation and regulations in a regulatory environment.
- Understanding of the operations of the securities and futures market.
- Completion of securities industry courses such as The Canadian Securities Course.
