Job Description
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely payment to employees.
  • Determine the value of fixed assets and depreciation, accurately recording these transactions in our accounting systems.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements, providing a clear picture of the company's financial position.
  • Post journal entries, reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Prepare tax returns, staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare trial balance of books, verifying the accuracy of our financial records.
  • Reconcile accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry. You should be proficient in manual and computerized bookkeeping systems, with excellent organizational and analytical skills.

What We Offer: As an Accounting Specialist at Tartan Towing, you can expect a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications. Our company offers a permanent employment contract, working 35 to 40 hours per week. Your primary language of work will be English.
