About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovative Leadership: Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and diversity, and inspire a team of talented professionals to deliver outstanding work.
  • Talent Management: Develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and grow top-tier talent in the Ottawa office.
  • Commercial Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, and lead the pitch process to convert leads into new clients.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues, providing strategic counsel and support to help them achieve their goals.
Critical Experience
  • 15-20 years of experience in public affairs and/or strategic communications leadership roles, preferably in both corporate and agency environments.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple verticals, including public affairs, government relations, strategic communications, public relations, and public participation.
  • Exceptional judgment, agility, and ability to manage change and complex relationships.
  • Strong financial literacy, with a track record of success in maintaining growth and profitability.
  • A genuine love for the people and the work, with experience leading and being a member of diverse hybrid teams.
  • Political savvy and experience working with government stakeholders, with an ability to understand the nuances of shifting geopolitical, policy, and community landscapes.
  • Experience leading business development efforts, with a growth mindset and ability to convert new opportunities.
  • A strong network of trusted relationships across government, business, and community stakeholders.
