Job Description

At Bayshore HealthCare, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Registered Nurse to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse who is looking for a Monday to Friday career opportunity with day shifts only (no nights, no weekends), and who is ready for an exciting challenge working with an extremely unique and rewarding patient population.

Our Mental Health Nurses provide Mental Health services to our clients in a primary health care setting where they are responsible for assessment, nursing diagnosis, development and implementation of a care plan, crisis intervention, and counseling and life skills programming to the clients in the clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide counseling services in individual and/or group therapy sessions using CBT, DBT or motivational interview techniques.
  • Conduct bio-psychosocial assessments and provide medication management from inpatient and outpatient perspectives.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of full-time experience in nursing practice performing a variety of Mental Health nursing activities such as supportive psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, counseling, and crisis intervention or management in an adult community setting.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university.
  • Current and valid nursing license in Ontario.
  • Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or CPR/AED Level C.
