Registered Nurse Practitioner

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at The Royal Mental Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide person-centered care to adults with mental health challenges and varying stages of cognitive deficits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maximize patient function, participation, and control in their recovery.
- Promote healthy lifestyle changes through health teaching.
- Provide person-centered care, incorporating knowledge of unique patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and respond promptly and appropriately.
- Monitor and document patient response to therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses to manage rapidly changing situations.
- Demonstrate awareness of and comply with The Royal's vision, values, and policies.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork.
- Establish and promote therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Administer medications and perform treatments within RPN scope of practice.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of two years recent experience with adults with psychiatric/mental health illness preferred.
- Knowledge of CNO Standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
- Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
- Basic computer skills required.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing.
What We Offer:
Competitive salary range: $35.36 to $37.05 per hour.
