Job Description

This position involves conducting research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and engaging in service activities within the university and the profession.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A PhD in Accounting or a related field from a recognized institution;
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, as evidenced by publications, presentations, or other scholarly activities;
  • Strong theoretical and methodological skills, with a mastery of the relevant accounting literature;
  • An excellent teaching record, with experience in designing and delivering courses that cater to diverse student needs;
  • A willingness to engage in service activities that promote the growth and well-being of the university and the profession;
  • A strong desire to conduct impactful research that contributes to the advancement of accounting knowledge.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. In addition to competitive compensation, employees of the University of Calgary enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, which includes access to health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.

Candidates are expected to meet the eligibility criteria for tenure-track appointments at the University of Calgary. The selected candidate will undergo a comprehensive review process, including a probationary period, before being granted tenure.
