Aviation Professor

Mount Royal University (Academic) is seeking a highly qualified Aviation Professor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished academic to contribute to the growth and development of our aviation program.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated and passionate professional with expertise in aviation management, operations, or a related field. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses, developing curriculum, and conducting research in their area of specialization. They will also participate in departmental and university service activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent teaching and communication skills, and experience in program development. A PhD in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates who hold or have held industry certifications such as an Airline Transport Pilot License or Commercial Pilot License.
This is a full-time tenure-track position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The estimated annual salary for this role is around $110,000-$140,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Teach courses in aviation management, operations, or related fields
- Develop and maintain curriculum for the aviation program
- Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals
- Participate in departmental and university service activities
- PhD in a relevant field (aviation management, operations, etc.)
- Industry certifications (Airline Transport Pilot License, Commercial Pilot License, etc.) preferred
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
- Experience in program development
