About the Role

We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in 2024. This cross-appointed position between General Management and Communications Studies requires an individual who can contribute meaningfully to both areas through teaching, service, and/or research.

Job Description:

This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position that involves teaching and leading curriculum development in two courses: Business Communications in the General Management Department and Roles and Practices in Contemporary Communications in Communication Studies. The successful candidate will likely teach six 3-credit hour courses per academic year in the teaching/scholarship/service pattern or eight courses in the teaching/service pattern.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outlines, activities, lesson preparation, and assessments;
  • Research (if on TSS): executing a relevant program of research within an undergraduate university context;
  • Administration: administering exams, inputting grades, and participating in course-related meetings;
  • Service: may include activities such as coaching student teams, mentoring student clubs, and serving on departmental committees;
  • Community: the successful candidate will be required to liaise with industry partners and professional associations.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a Master's degree and business/industry experience with a communications focus. They should have teaching and curriculum development experience at the post-secondary level, strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to respectfully engage with diverse communities.
