As a Business Development Strategist, you will lead the Business Development team, collaborating closely with our Chief Growth Officer. Your role entails building the overall partnerships strategy for the organization, focusing on scaling our brand and business through third-party relationships.

This is a hybrid role, with regular attendance expected in the Toronto FreshBooks office located in Downtown Toronto. As a Partnership Growth Leader, you'll drive business growth through strategic partnerships, identifying key organizations to collaborate with.

  • Develop the overall vision for partnerships at FreshBooks, prioritizing collaborations that drive business growth across payments and accounting channels
  • Support and accelerate the growth of existing partners, overseeing partner plans and budgeted revenue
  • Evaluate the partner market landscape, recruiting, onboarding, and operationalizing new partnerships in collaboration with internal teams at FreshBooks (product, technology, sales, marketing)
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with strategic partners, facilitating regular reviews and identifying shared objectives for mutual growth
  • Contribute to corporate affairs strategy by collaborating with the executive team on policy issues, funding opportunities, and customer-focused initiatives
  • Lead direct and indirect teams across the organization

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Channel management, sales, and/or business development experience
  • Proven ability to manage large partnerships and drive them towards full revenue engagement
  • Background in SaaS, platform, and community-building partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey the value of FreshBooks and foster excitement among collaborators
  • Experience leading teams or complex projects with successful outcomes
  • Government relations and affairs expertise

We offer an estimated annual salary of approximately $140,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
