About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Sponsored Research Services team. As Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership in the administration of research funding, ensuring compliance with external sponsor requirements and university policies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective strategies for research funding administration, including pre-award and post-award processes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to researchers, faculties, and administrators on research-related policies and procedures.
- Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines for research funding administration.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of research funding initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure effective financial management of research funding.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of research administrators, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Master's degree in a relevant field or a combination of equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively senior positions within a research-intensive university or similar complex research environment.
- Extensive knowledge of university pre- and post-award administration processes, research contracts and agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
