About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Student Services Advisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Community College. As a key member of our Student Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to students in areas such as accessibility, career development, enrollment, finance, learning, student life, and wellness.
  • Develop and deliver events, activities, and interactions that promote student growth, engagement, and leadership.
  • Collaborate with academic chairs and faculty to provide services tailored to the unique needs and opportunities of students and programs.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations to provide students with access to relevant resources and supports.
  • Provide referrals to internal and external resources, including learning disability and counseling supports.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of recent and relevant occupational experience in student services or supporting adults in personal, academic, and/or career development and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous students and communities would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be considered an asset.
