Scientific Research and Development Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Scientist to join our team at Actlabs. As a global leader in analytical testing and development services, we are committed to delivering high-quality analysis and driving innovation in various industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing research and development to improve quality, turnaround time, and costs of our methods and processes. This will involve researching and developing new scientific processes, authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), executing method validation, and authoring validation reports.
In addition, the R&D Scientist will formulate research strategies on R&D projects, oversee technicians in the execution of experiments, and provide technical training and guidance to technicians and managers. The role also involves interfacing between Quality Assurance and Operations, overseeing root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action, and providing technical support to our network of laboratories.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Geochemistry and minimum 5 years of R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation, or a Bachelor's degree with minimum 10 years of progressive R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation. They will also possess excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, common sense, and innovative thinking.

About the Job
- Perform research and development to improve quality, turnaround time, and costs of Actlabs' methods and processes
- Research and develop new scientific processes, author SOPs, execute method validation, and author validation reports
- Formulate research strategies on R&D projects and oversee technicians in the execution of experiments
- Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and managers
- Interface between QA and Operations: Oversee root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action
- Provide technical support to Actlabs' network of laboratories
- Evaluate the adequacy of current and new equipment
- Analyze data and generate final reports for non-routine projects
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment
- Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

Requirements
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Geochemistry and minimum 5 years of R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation, or B.Sc. and minimum 10 years of progressive R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation
