About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Chef to join our team at JAG. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and presentation of food for banquets and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, weddings, and corporate functions.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Plan and execute menus that meet the highest quality standards and cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize kitchen operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Client Communication: Consult with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and develop a team of skilled cooks and kitchen staff to ensure excellent service delivery.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of success in leading kitchen teams and delivering exceptional results.
  • Certifications: Cook Trade Certification, Safe Food Handling certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate.
