Job Title: Environmental Project Manager

Join the Administration portuaire de Québec team as an Environmental Project Manager and contribute to the organization's mission to become a leader in the fight against climate change.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing environmental projects, collaborating with the Environment department and other stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Project management: preparation of calls for tender, selection of bidders, monitoring of costs and schedules, quality of deliverables, and supervision of work
  2. Environmental support: planning and implementing environmental measures for infrastructure projects, including soil management and environmental impact mitigation
  3. Project evaluation: assessing the acceptability of projects proposed by the Infrastructure Department or users of the port territory under the Impact Assessment and Mitigation Process (IAMP)
  4. Contaminated soil management: planning, coordinating, and supervising the disposal, removal, monitoring, and traceability of contaminated soils and sediments with various subcontractors
  5. Surface and groundwater quality monitoring: planning and coordinating the realization of various studies or programs for QPA's needs with external consultants
  6. Environmental monitoring: responsible for environmental monitoring of the territory in collaboration with environmental technicians and port users
  7. Continuous improvement: collaborating in the continuous improvement of environmental management tools, notably in collaboration with the Port of Quebec's innovation team
  8. Emergency response: acting as an environmental watchdog and responding to emergencies and complaints by coordinating the application of corrective measures related to his sector, alternating with team members

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, and environmental and project management expertise. A good team player who likes to help others, results-oriented, and enjoys taking on new challenges. Field experience in an industrial environment and knowledge of the maritime environment are assets.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a project manager
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Environmental and project management expertise
